Man City Plotting £115m Swoop for Three Players in Summer Transfer Window

Manchester City will spend £115m on three players in the summer, according tothe Sun.

Sporting CP midfielder William Carvalho is a target for Pep Guardiola's side, with the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager eager to recruit a midfielder during the summer. City could bid up to £60m for the Portugal international, a bid which could break the club's record transfer fee.

Guardiola apparently believes City are currently too easy to unpick in midfield and sees Carvalho, who starred during Portugal's Euro 2016 win,as the obvious signing. The hefty fee will not deter City, despite the transfer potentially leaving the futures of Fernando and Yaya Toure ambiguous.

City are also hoping to sign Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand, with the futures of Gael Clichy andAleksandar Kolarov looking uncertain.Bertrand has impressed during his time at Southampton, making 86 appearances for the club since joining from Chelsea, but could cost City up to £30m.Guardiola remains keen on signing Tottenham full-backs Danny Rose and Kyle Walker but realises the deals remain unlikely and sees Bertrand as an alternative at left-back.

Middlesbrough centre-back Ben Gibson is also a target.Gibson is currently playing in his first Premier League season but City's centre-backs have failed to impress this year, with their defensive record less than impressive so far this campaign.

Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones have figured prominently this season but the club have still conceded 29 Premier League goals in 25 matches. City splashed out big on both Otamendi and Stones, but Gibson could cost the club a further £25m should they decide to pursue the deal.
