Sanchez banner Alexis Sanchez opened his account with a first goal for Manchester United in a routine 2-0 victory over Huddersfield on Saturday afternoon. After an anonymous performance in his league debut against Tottenham in midweek, the Chilean played with renewed vigour in his second top-flight outing for United since joining from Arsenal. Who knows, perhaps Sanchez was inspired by a truly moving message spotted draped in the upper tier at Old Trafford.

"Welcome to Manchester," the sign read, embracing not only Sanchez but his two beloved labradors Atom and Humber as well. However, the well-wishes didn't last long.
Indeed, according to the Daily Mail, the banner was removed by stewards "within minutes" of being unfurled, a move which earned cheers from some of the cringe-induced sections of the home support.
