Man United too hot for Huddersfield?

Published on: 15 February 2018

Tottenham cost our midweek column dearly after somehow rallying to claim a 2-2 draw with Juventus in the Champions League, while FC Porto's inability to score against a rampant Liverpool on Wednesday also cost us a 3/1 winner. Looking ahead, it's FA Cup fifth round weekend in England and we've got all the best betting angles covered.

Running total: -£59.50

The Home Banker

Leicester have established themselves in the top half of the Premier League without ever looking like cracking the top six, so now look ideally placed for a decent FA Cup run. They face Sheffield United at home in round five and should be too good for a Blades outfit whose form in the Championship has fallen away a bit in recent weeks. Jamie Vardy has scored in each of his last four matches for the Foxes, so looks worthy of a punt at 20/21 should he start on Friday evening.

Selection: Vardy to score anytime at 20/21 with bet365.

The Tasty Treble

Manchester United (4/9) will unquestionably have one eye on their forthcoming Champions League clash with Sevilla next week but should still prove too hot for Huddersfield, who have won just one of their last seven matches. Terriers boss Davis Wagner will prioritise Premier League safety ahead of FA Cup glory so expect both teams to ring the changes. Elsewhere Leicester have lost just one of their last nine home games so get the nod at 4/7 to beat Sheffield United. Finally West Brom (15/8) looked sensational in dumping Liverpool out in round four and if they find anything like that kind of form they'll have too much for Southampton at home. The treble pays bigger than 11/2 with bet365.

Selection: £2 on the treble at 5.52/1 with bet365.

The Euro Wager

Juventus have won their last eight matches in Serie A but face a serious test of their title credentials when they face Torino in the Derby della Mole. Il Toro have lost just two of 12 games on home soil this season so the shout here could be backing the draw at 14/5. It will be interesting to see how Juve rebound after that stunning 2-2 draw with Tottenham, a game they really should have had wrapped up by half-time.

Selection: £3 on the draw at 14/5 with bet365.

The Wildcard Tip

Manchester City travel to Wigan on Monday evening in a repeat of the 2013 FA Cup final and if you fancy the Latics to spring another shock they are chalked up at 20/1 to win at the DW Stadium. However Pep Guardiola's men know the Quadruple is still a possibility and so won't be taking their foot off the pedal here. They've shipped goals in just three of their last eight FA Cup matches so look worth a punt at 8/1 to win this 4-0.

Selection: Manchester City to win 4-0 at 8/1 with bet365.

The Bookie Basher

Willian is a likely starter for Chelsea in their fifth round clash with Hull on Friday and the Brazilian -- who has scored eight goals for the Blues this season -- is an 11/2 chance to score first. Backing him with Swansea's Tammy Abraham (5/1) to score first for Swansea against Sheffield Wednesday offers a 38/1 first goalscorer double that is not without hope.

Selection: £1 on Willian - Abraham first goalscorer double at 38/1 with bet365.
