Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is in regular contact with Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, it has been revealed.

Don Balon says he has been in “constant" contact with Varane, 24 – who he signed while at Real in 2011.
Mourinho has struggled to cement a defensive partnership in his debut United season.
Eric Bailly, a £30m summer signing from Villarreal, is a regular for the Red Devils, but question marks remain over the remaining position.

Marcos Rojo has filled in well this season but Mourinho prefers to play him at left-back when possible, says The Sun.
