Manchester United have jumped into the battle for Fiorentina star Federico Bernardeschi.

The Italy international is in a contract dispute with Fiorentina and his situation has attracted interest from Antonio Conte's Chelsea and Juventus.

Italian transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla reports United are also in contact, with manager Jose Mourinho driving the deal as he seeks to add pace to his attack.

United intermediaries have made contact with Fiorentina about a price for Bernardeschi, while talks have also been held with his representatives.

Interestingly, Bernardeschi came close to joining United as a 16 year-old, but chose to turn down then United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and remain in Florence.
