Man Utd clinging on to hope Fellaini will extend contract

Manchester United are hopeful of signing Marouane Fellaini to an extension despite the Belgian recently rejecting a new deal.

It was reported Wednesday that Arsenal would attempt to sign the 29-year-old in January.

But despite the setback, Goal claims United are confident they can convince Fellaini to commit his future to the club.

Jose Mourinho is desperate to retain the utility player, who has become one of his favourites since arriving at Old Trafford.

Out of 142 appearances Fellaini has made for United, 56 have come during the last fifteen months that Mourinho has been in charge.
