Man Utd Legend Delivers Damning Verdict on Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey Stating He 'Isn't World Class'

Manchester United legend Ray Wilkins has provided a damning report of Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, suggesting that the player isn't 'world class'.

The Welshman was a vitalpart of the successful Wales national side which reached the semi-finals of the Euros in France last summer, as well as lifting the FA Cup with the Gunners in both 2014 and 2015.

However, due to injuries and a drop in form, the 26-year-old has failed to hit the heights that many predicted him to reach after scoring16 goals in 34 games in all competitions in the 2013/14 campaign for his club, and Wilkins has suggested that while he is a good player, he cannot be put into the same bracket as his compatriot Gareth Bale just yet.

Speaking on the Alan Brazil Up Front podcast, via theSport Review, Wilkins said: "I like Aaron Ramsey a lot. I think he is an excellent footballer but I don't think he is world class. Gareth Bale certainly is."

Bale, currently playing for Real Madrid following his big-money move from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, was the joint leading goalscorer at the Euros with three strikes, and has started the new season brightly with five goals in 10 games so far for Los Blancos.

Ramsey has been linked with a £25m move to the Spanish capital next summer to link up with his fellow compatriot, and may take the move into consideration should he face further competition for places in Arsenal's midfield.

Ramsey featured for Arsenal in their early kickoff with Manchester United on Saturday, with the game finishing in a 1-1 draw, after Olivier Giroud cancelled out Juan Mata's stirke for the Red Devils.
