Man Utd legend Neville slaughters senior Everton players: Shying away from responsibility

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has attacked three Everton players after defeat to Leicester City on Sunday.

Neville believes Everton's defence let them down for the 2-0 reverse.

"Those experienced players at the back disappoint me, continuously," Neville said on Sky Sports.

“I think they should take responsibility. They don't. They shy away from responsibility.

“It's easy to point at the coach and the manager, you're not telling me David Unsworth before that game in the 10 days he's had with them 'by the way, I want you to leave big gaps between your full-back and centre-back'.

“They should know, they've played the game, how many games have those lads played?

“Baines, Jagielka, Williams, they've played hundreds and thousands of games! Close your spaces in your gaps, it's ridiculous.

“The lad's getting killed today, David Unsworth. He's a young manager who's been a job 10 days, doing Everton a favour being respectful.

“He's come up, he's got a good job of bringing young players through from the reserves, youth team, all that sort of stuff, and we're killing him because he's lost a couple of games, it's ridiculous.

“Absolutely ridiculous, those players there, they want shooting.

“What do they think, just to leave gaps in-behind the defence?

“Leave Jamie Vardy space to run into, have they not watched Jamie Vardy for three years?"
