Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola Labels Journalist a 'Liar' for Linking Him With Alexis Sanchez

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has dismissed speculation linking his side with a move for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, claiming that the journalist that came out with the story is a 'liar'.


Reportson Monday claimed that Guardiola phoned Sanchez after the Chilean striker scored a hat-trick in the 5-1 win at West Ham.

But the Catalan boss insists thatEl Mercurio's report is 'absolutely false', even though he has a good relationship with Sanchez having worked with him at Barcelona.

He further squashed the rumour by emphasising his point:"He's a liar, guys. The journalist is a liar."


This led on to Guardiola discussing his side's upcoming Champions League outing against Celtic, with the two sides set to meet on Tuesday night.

City have already secured qualification for the knockout stages, and the boss admits that he will make changes to rest his players after a demanding couple of weeks in the Premier League.


"There will be changes tomorrow, definitely," he said. "I am so happy to give minutes to people who deserve to play and who did not play in the last games."

But he failed to answer whether Sergio Aguero, who is suspendedfor four games league games, will play.


He added:"If Sergio is going to play or not, I am going to decide today or tomorrow. I don't know at the moment."
