Manchester City's Yaya Toure Embarrasses Kelechi Iheanacho Over Man of the Match Award

While Kelechi Iheanacho's performance was certainly instrumental in helping Manchester City overcome Hull City, it didn't quite top Yaya Toure's display.

The Ivorian has performed immaculately ever since his return to Pep Guardiola's side, and scored the opener as City eventually eased to a 3-0 win.

Toure was given the Man of the Match award by Sky Sports after the game, and managed to embarrass teammate Iheanacho during their joint interview.

Toure had earlier mentioned it was his son's birthday on Boxing Day, and revealed the award would serve as present for his kid.

"Oh nice, thank you very much, I will give it to my boy then," Toure said.

Iheanacho is then seen to make a move for the award, seemingly mistaking the 'my boy' phrase for a term of endearment from his teammate. Toure reiterates the award is for his kid, not Iheanacho, and is heard laughing along with the interviewer as the duo waltz off.

The post-match interview matters little for City, who kept pace with other Premier League title hopefuls Chelsea and Arsenal, both of whom won earlier on Monday.

Toure's penalty, alongside Iheanacho's tap in and a Curtis Davies own-goal earned City a hard fought win, having been made to wait until late in the second half to make the breakthrough.
