Manchester United assign scouts to monitor in-form defender Jeremie Frimpong

English Premier League side, Manchester United are interested in the signing of Dutch-Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong.

The former Celtic teenager has significantly grown his game in the last 18 months after signing for Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga.

According to information gathered from sources, Jeremie Frimpong is now a transfer target of a number of top clubs in Europe.

It is understood that Manchester United is in the lead in the race for the signature of the youngster.

The top club in England has already assigned scouts to continue monitoring the player as they plan to swoop in to sign him to reinforce the squad of the team.

This season, Jeremie Frimpong has scored 11 goals for Bayer Leverkusen after making 11 appearances in the German Bundesliga.

His current contract with Bayer Leverkusen will expire in 2025.

Sources say he could be signed by a top club in Europe after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The 21-year-old has been named in the provisional Dutch squad for the upcoming tournament.
