Mansfield Town manager Adam Murray has banned his players from using their mobile phones when they are at theclub in an unprecedented move.
Murray was speaking to BBC Radio Nottingham(via theMail)whenhe hit out at his players for communicating via their mobiles and not talking to each otherface-to-face as he looks to turn the League Two sides season around.
Mansfield currently sit 11th in the league table, but have only won two games in the last ten games and Murray say's they needed change at the club, "It's a society thing. I don't like the amount of time people spend on their phones around the football club."
In an era full of technology, the Mansfield manager is trying to get his players engaging with each other more, Murray said: "'They don't talk and then they expect to go into an environment where you have to talk and it will just happen."
'I think all of us, we're all guilty. We get lost in this technology world now and we forget the actual core values of human beings.
Initially the club had a ban on phones foronly in certain situations or timesoftheday, but now have had to ban them completely, "We had a ban on phones in certain times anyway - players weren't allowed to be on their phones because they have to talk to each other. Instead of it just being in certain times, now we've put a complete stop on it."
Murray will face his ex-playing side Luton Town this weekend and he will be hoping for a reaction against one of the league's top dogs in what will be a very tough test for his side.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola recently banned Wi-Fi from the club's training ground, Sergio Aguero said Pep saw 'too many players relax on their phones' and decided to cut the Wi-Fi off at the facility.
