New Cardiff City striker Marouane Chamakh hasblastedhis former manager Arsene Wenger, insisting he deserved more playing time under the Frenchmanwhen with Arsenal, as reported by theEXPRESS.

Chamakh spent three years at Arsenal having joined the club on a free transfer from French side Bordeaux in the summer of 2010. Despite making a promising start, the Moroccan found life difficult in North London and only scored eights goals in his three years at the club.

With Robin van Persie the number one striker, Chamakh only made 40 appearances in total. Afterplaying for two more London clubs, Chamakhhas now made the trip to the Welsh capital to join Cardiff City.

When speaking about his time at Arsenal and his relationship with manager Arsene Wenger, he said:"It is clear that I am a little annoyed at him because I think I deserved more playing time than what I was given."

"As the year began, at the start of the season, he told me that we might change formation and I would maybe be able to play up front with Robin. They were nothing but promises¦ nothing happened. For the aims that I had, I think it was a little bit a lack of respect. I started well and then the next day he shades me out like that."

Whilst Chamakh still holds a grudge over his time at Arsenal, it's difficult to see how he could have played in place of Van Persie, who scored 96 goals for the Gunners and was also in prolific form when the Moroccan was at the club.

The irony is that both players left North London in the same transfer window, which must frustrate Chamakh even more; after spending a couple of months on loan at West Ham, he joined Crystal Palace in 2013.

Whilst the striker made more appearances for the Eagles than he did under Arsene Wenger, he managed a goal fewer in his two and a half years at the club which isn't exactly prolific form.

Now at Cardiff City, Chamakh will need to do his talking on the pitch to prove his point to former manager Arsene Wengerand help takethe Bluebirds out of the Championship relegation zone.
