Martin Koopman did a good job for Hearts of Oak – Interim coach Abdul Rahim Bashiru

Interim Hearts of Oak coach Abdul Rahim Bashiru has heaped praise on former coach Martin Koopman, saying he did a good job for the club before his sacking.

The Phobians shown the Dutch trainer the exit door following an unimpressive result in the Ghana Premier League.

Hearts of Oak returned to winning ways under the interim coach following a 2-1 win over Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday.

Goals from Hamza Issah and Raphael Amponsah endured the Phobians cruised to victory to merit the maximum points.

Speaking to the media, Abdul Bashiru, who secured victory in his first game in charge of the Phobians acknowledged the Ducth trainer for the good work he did before his sacking.

“We still playing to the tactics of Martin Koopman because he departed the club not long ago so I cannot take the credit for the win against Accra Lions. I will give some credit to Koopman because he did a very good job with Hearts of Oak” he said.

Hearts of Oak are currently 9th on the Ghana Premier League table with 15 points after 11 games.
