Match report: AshantiGold held to a goalless draw by Legon Cities

Published on: 15 January 2020

AshantiGold dropped their first points of the season in a largely drab encounter against Legon Cities.

The Miners started brightly and were almost rewarded in the 8th minute but Shafiu Mumuni uncharacteristically sent his effort wide.

The Obuasi based side had some one on one opportunities but Legon Cities goalkeeper managed to deal with the situations.

Legon Cities slowly grew into the tie but their shots failed to pose problems for Frank Boateng.

The game produced some controversy in the late stages. Legon Cities players had a penalty shout which was controversially denied by the referee.

AshantiGold will host giant slayers Berekum Chelsea on matchday 5 and Legon Cities will travel to face Aduana Stars
