Ghana’s Black Meteors has today posted a 1-0 victory over Accra Hearts of Oak as they continue preparations for their upcoming two-legged encounter against the Algeria u-23 team.

The national u-23 team is bent on qualifying for this year’s continental championship but will need to overcome the might of their North African counterpart when they meet in the final qualifying round.

In a bid to get his side ready for next month’s challenge, head coach for the Black Meteors, Ibrahim Tanko and his men engaged the Phobians in a friendly encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium earlier today.

Following a good exercise, the u-23 side emerged as 1-0 winners courtesy a fine goal by Nzema Kotoko forward Akese Akese.

The side is set to build on the victory and will continue preparations for the next two weeks before welcoming the Algerians to the Accra Sports Stadium on September 6, 2019.

The team that reigns supreme will qualify for the u-23 Cup of Nations which will serve as a qualifying platform for the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games.
