Match Report: Hearts of Oak thrash Gap Soccer Academy 6-0 as part of preparations for AS Bamako game

Ghana Premier League side, Hearts of Oak on Wednesday continued their preparations for the CAF Confederation Cup clash against AS Real Bamako by playing a friendly match.

The Phobians today locked horns with Gap Soccer Academy in the afternoon to get players in top shape ahead of the crucial upcoming match.

At the end of the exercise, Hearts of Oak was no match for the opponent.

The capital-based club scored six unanswered goals. Striker Isaac Mensah bagged a brace during the game as goals from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Gideon Asante, Fatawu Mohammed, and Samuel Inkoom sealed the big friendly victory.

The team will return to training on Thursday to intensify preparations for what will be the second leg game in the tie against AS Real Bamako.

Hearts of Oak trail 3-0 from the first leg and need to conjure magic to overturn the tide in their favour.

The second leg meeting between Hearts of Oak and AS Real Bamako is scheduled to be played on Sunday, October 16, 2022.
