Kumasi Asante Kotoko continued their impressive start to the second round of the Ghana Premier League season with a narrow 1-0 victory at Ebusua Dwarfs on Wednesday afternoon.

Steve Pollack's side scored the only goal of the match in the first half and escaped the Cape Coast Stadium with all three points despite some nervy moments.

The goal was scored by midfielder Baba Mahama who opened the scoring in the 31st minute after receiving a pass from Jackson Owusu.

The goal came after early dominance by Kotoko which saw Yakubu Mohammed spurn several chances.

Dwarfs also threatened with Kotoko goalie Felix Annan proving equal to Joseph Esso's shot.

After recess, both teams spurned their best opportunities from set-pieces.

However, Kotoko goalie Annan earned his side all three points when he smothered a shot from striker Nicholas Gyan.

The win saw Kotoko preserve their unbeaten status in the second round of the Ghana Premier League.
