Nsoatreman FC Communications Director, Joel Gyempeh has hinted that Maxwell Konadu, who is the head coach of the club is ready to take up the Black Stars coaching role.

Konadu, who is a former assistant coach for the senior national team is one of the two local coaches who have applied for the vacant role.

The Black Stars are without a head coach following the dismissal of Chris Hughton after the team's poor performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Ivory Coast.

“Maxwell-Konadu- feels he is ready to lead the national team given his past experiences with the Black Stars,” Gyempeh told Citi Sports.

After the sacking of Hughton, a five-man committee led by Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice President Mark Addo has been given a 21-day mandate to name a new head coach for the Black Stars.

Konadu has served as Black Stars caretaker head coach twice and worked with Ghana’s Under 20 and Under 23 national football teams.

In his first season as head coach of Nsoatreman, Konadu has guided the Ghana Premier League debutant to fifth place in the 18-team league standings.

Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club player Konadu won the league title in 2013.
