Patrick Mboma, a man who was part of the historic Cameroon team that claimed the Gold medal at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, has been confirmed as a TotalEnergies U23 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2023 draw assistant.

The draw to be conducted at 17h00 local time (16h00 GMT) at the Mohamed VI Technical Centre in Rabat, Morocco will be live on CAF Official website and CAFtv (YouTube).

The final tournament will feature eight (8) teams: Morocco (host), Egypt, Niger, Guinea, Congo, Ghana, Mali and Gabon.

The Cameroon team wrote a piece of history at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games when they won the nation’s first Olympic Gold Medal.

It was the genesis of what would be remembered as the second golden generation – an era that would produce many stars.

One such was Patrick Mboma – who made a name for himself during the competition thanks to solid performances. It was his goal in the semi-finals that proved to be decisive and vital in ensuring passage for Cameroon to the final of the competition.
