Medeama coach Augustine Evans Adotey has explained why his outfit suffered defeat to Aduana Stars in the week 2 encounter of the Ghana Premier League.

The Yellow and Mauves succumbed to defeat against the Ogya Boys at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Sunday. Goals from Bright Adjei and Gabriel Akwasi Mensah silenced the CAF Champions League campaigners.

Medeama are yet to win a game after two games and are rock-bottom on the league standings.

Speaking to the media, Evans Adotey said, “We missed Sowah, Fatawu and Kojo Amoako and looking at the set up, we fielded three youngsters in the game. In-fact, if should they convince me why not bring them on board in the return encounter”

“I will not say the physically affected us because it was a game of equal. Well, we lost, I will accept the defeat. We need to go back and prepare for the African campaign” he said.

Medeama have their work cut out for them when they make the trip to Guinea to battle Horoya for a place in the group stage of the CAF Champions League on Saturday.

The team will depart Ghana for their CAF Champions League decider against Horoya AC on Thursday.
