Medeama defender Fatawu Hamidu gets Black Stars call-up to replace injured Baba Rahman

Black Stars Head Coach Chris Hughton has made an adjustment to his squad ahead of the friendly match against Liberia, scheduled for Tuesday, September 12 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

This change comes in light of the withdrawal of Baba Rahman from the squad due to an injury. Rahman, who was given a starting position in the recent 2-1 comeback victory against Central African Republic, had to be substituted in the 69th minute due to the injury.

As a result of this injury, the former Chelsea left-back will not be available for the friendly against Liberia.

In his stead, Fatawu Hamidu, Medeama’s left-back, has been called up to the team, marking his first inclusion.

Over the past two seasons, Fatawu Hamidu has distinguished himself as one of the top left-backs in the country, having played for both Accra Lions and Medeama.

In Medeama's victorious campaign, he played a crucial role, making 18 appearances and scoring 2 goals.
