Medeama players promised $2m to annex Ghana Premier League title - Reports

Headline sponsors of Medeama, Goldfields has reportedly set up a $2m reward package to the playing body should the team annex the Ghana Premier League title at the end of the season.

The Yellow and Mauve swept aside the Premier League giants at the Accra Sports Stadium as they leapfrogged Aduana to reach the summit of the league standings with three games to end the campaign.

The Tarkwa-based club inflicted an emphatic 5-1 win over the Phobians to go top of the table after 31 matches.

According to reports in the local media, the entire playing body and technical team of Medeama have been asked to win the league to grab the said amount.

Goldfields is a mining company and the club's main sponsors who supports the Tarkwa-based side with a $300,000 every year and also nears completion of the renovation of the T.N.A Park to a 10,000 seater which could be used by the club in the 2023/24 campaign.

Medeama will host relegation-bound King Faisal in a must win encounter at the Akoon Park.
