Medeama SC mindful of Dortmund ‘disaster’ ahead of Ghana Premier League closure

Medeama is looking forward to clinching their first Ghana Premier League title and isn’t ready for any final day surprise this weekend.

The 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season is expected to come to an end this weekend with an intriguing fixtures across the centres.

Just as Dortmund, Medeama enter the final round of the Ghanaian top-flight as log leaders, three points ahead of  second-placed Bechem United.

The Yellow and Mauves are aware of Borussia Dortmund's final  final day title loss to Bayern Munich, which is serving as a guide for the club ahead of the league closure on Sunday.

Bayern were crowned Bundesliga champions for an 11th consecutive time after a late 2-1 win at Cologne snatched the title away from Borussia Dortmund.

Dortmund, who entered a pulsating final day two points clear at the top, were denied being crowned champions for the first time in 11 years after they drew 2-2 at home to Mainz, losing out on goal difference.

Medeama are now just a point away from winning the league as they prepare to face the Tamale City and will go into the clash with all seriousness to clinch their maiden league title.

The Yellow and Mauves has taken lessons from Dortmund’s recent heartbreak as they head into the decisive encounter against Tamale City at the Akoon Community Park.

Coach Augustine Evans Adotey and his charges are focused and won’t be complacent as seek to annex the covetous trophy on home soil.
