Asante Kotoko caretaker coach Abdul Gazale has praised striker Mfegue Omgba for his outstanding performance against relegated Kotoku Royals.

Abdul Gazale after the game revealed that the striker was not ready to start against the Royals on Monday. Mfegue Omgba scored two goals in the 8th and 28th minutes.

Rocky Dwamena scored Kotoko's third goal in the 49th minute and Richard Dzikoe scored the consolation goal for Kotoku Royals in the 36th minute.

"He was not ready to start but I just told him we needed him on the pitch because of the experience that he had to contribute to the team," Gazale said after the game.

"Because looking at the nature of our injury list we had our last training season then Mukwala pulled out of the squad. So we were not having any option than to start him,"

Georges Mfegue Omgba has scored three goals in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
