Ghana’s Michael Essien is set to receive an amount of 651,000 euros from his former club Panathinaikos for non-payment of two due installments which he merits as part of his initial contract agreement.

Essien, who joined Panathinaikos in 2015 from AC Milan, was the highest paid player at the club with an annual salary of 800,000 Euros but failed to see through his two year deal after the club released him midway through.

The Greek giants have however failed to settle all financial agreements with the player after he was released hence the need for them to fork out 651,000 euros with the forthcoming capital increase of 5 million. Euro should the payment delay beyond February 2017.
