Midfielder Edmund Addo set to miss match against Nigeria

Ghana's preparation towards the crucial double header against the Super Eagles of Nigeria has been hit by injury to FC Sheriff Tiraspol midfielder Edmund Addo.

He has been ruled out of the games after the Black Stars medical staff completed a thorough examination of his injury according to reports in the local media.

The talented midfielder was injured in FC Sheriff Tiraspol's away win against Sfintul Gheorghe in Moldova's top-tier league on Sunday.

Addo, who arrived at the Black Stars camp on Monday, got a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan under the supervision of the Ghana medical staff.

However, the results of the MRI scan revealed that the 21-year-old defensive midfielder will not be available for selection in the next double-header against Nigeria.

The Black Stars of Ghana arrived in Kumasi on Tuesday and have been training ahead of the first leg which will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium. The second leg of the playoffs will be played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on March 29th.
