Midfielder Kofi Twumasi joins Atlanta United 2

Atlanta United 2 has signed defensive midfielder Kofi Twumasi. The talented midfielder joined ATL UTD 2 after the league and federation approved the deal.

Twumasi is a defensive midfielder who grew up in Ghana. His professional career began in 2017 when he was signed by FC Viitoryl in Romania.

After a couple of seasons he was loaned to FC Universitatea Cluj where he made 12 appearances in the Romanian second division.

He continued his career in Germany, playing for Rot Weiss Oberhausen and VfB Homberg. In total, Twumasi has made 49 professional appearances and scored two goals.

Kofi Twumasi has already started playing for his new team. All future first team prospects were given the opportunity to play in United's friendly game against Chattanooga FC at Finley Stadium by head coach Gonzalo Pineda. The prospects came on in the second half.

The 5-Stripes scored three first-half goals, including a brace from Luiz Araújo, and concluded their first 2023 friendly tied 3-3.
