Defender Mohammed Alhassan has named Daniel Afriyie Barnieh as his best Hearts of Oak Player of the Season.

Afriyie Barnieh has been the club's livewire since last season, helping them to back-to-back FA Cup triumphs and the 2020/21 league title.

He scored the match-winner in the sides 2-1 win over Bechem United on Sunday in the FA Cup final.

In an interview with Kumasi-based Wontumi FM, the enterprising defender asserted Barnieh has had an outstanding season and thus deserves plaudits.

“I will name Afriyie Barnieh as Hearts of Oak’s best Player of the Season because he has had an outstanding season” he said.

Afriyie Barnieh was part of the Black Stars squad that participated in the Kirin Cup in Japan.

He made his debut against Japan after coming on as a second half substitute.
