Ajax manager, Alfred Schreuder has disclosed that he can understand why players will be unhappy when they are not playing regularly.

Since the 2022/23 football season in the Netherlands, Ghana star Mohammed Kudus is yet to start in any Eredivisie match.

Speaking to ESPN after the attacker’s exciting display in the game against SC Cambuur over the weekend, manager Alfred Schreuder admitted that the Black Stars poster boy deserves to play more.

He however argued that players must accept their assigned roles knowing that they are playing for a common goal.

"It is difficult for some players that they play less. But everyone has to accept their role, because we all do it together. The prizes will only be distributed at the end of the ride. Is it soft that I let Mo play now? Well, he really deserves to play. And I always try to be clear and fair,” the Ajax manager said.

Due to the lack of regular playing time, Mohammed Kudus was ready to leave Ajax this summer.

The club however refused to let him leave as the club considers him to be one of the important players.
