Mohammed Polo blasts Hearts of Oak for appointing ‘Cheap’ Edward Odoom as head coach

Hearts of Oak legend Mohammed Polo has hit out at the club for appointing "Cheap" Edward Nii Odoom as head coach in the suspended 2019/20 Ghana Premier League.

Coach Nii Odoom has not had the best of starts as head coach of the club since taking over from Kim Grant, who was sacked after losing the first game of the season.

Hearts are currently 9th on the league table with 21 points after 14 matches played thus far.

Polo believes the club's appointment of coach Odoom falls below their standard and urged them not to settle for anything below.

"Hearts is not a small team; Hearts needs a coach with a pedigree, a coach with clout," he said.

"I don’t know what they saw before giving him (Edward Odoom) the job. What he can do is what he’s doing. Those who gave him the job they have eyes, if you want cheap things, you will get cheap results."

Mohammed Polo featured for Hearts and managed them between 2013 and 2014.

He was a member of the Black Stars squad that won the 1978 Africa Cup of Nations held in Ghana.
