Mohammed Polo confirms readiness to take up Black Stars coaching job

Former Accra Hearts of Oak head coach, Mohammed Polo has revealed that he is ready to take up the job as the manager of the Black Stars.

Ghana recently endured a shambolic campaign at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament where they were knocked out by the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia at the round of 16 stage.

Following that campaign, Black Stars head coach James Kwesi Appiah has come under severe backlash with many calling for him to leave his post over what they describe as his inability to help the team win a trophy.

It is now likely the gaffer will be sacked in the coming days though his extended contract will run until December of this year.

Speaking in an interview with Happy FM, Mohammed Polo has stressed that despite the fact that there are a lot of great coaches in the country, he will be the pest person to handle the national team.

“We have great coaches in the country who can coach the Black Stars team. I am ever ready to coach them if given the opportunity. It is long overdue”.

“It's painful to think about it, the time has been wasted but I guess God’s time is the best”, the Hearts of Oak legend stated.

As things stand now, it is unclear whether the GFA Normalization Committee (NC) will be interested in replacing coach Kwesi Appiah or not.
