Money must be given to clubs not investing it in legacy projects - Karela United CEO

Chief Executive Officer of (CEO) Karela United, Elloeny Amande, has implored the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to pump money into the various club rather than investing it in legacy projects.

During the 29th Ordinary Congress at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Great Hall last week, the President of the FA, Kurt Okraku promised increased financial support to clubs in the Access Bank Division One and logistics support to clubs in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.

But Mr Amande who spoke to Citi Sports seemed unhappy about the promises made.

He argued that clubs must be given enough funds rather than pumping money into legacy projects.

“Everybody in the ecosystem needs help and that’s why am very really passionate about money not going into legacy projects because there are real cash needs that the clubs have and if you raise money on behalf of the clubs, then the money needs to be going back to the clubs.”

Karela United finished eighth in the 2022-2023 BetPawa Ghana Premier League standings.

The 2023/224 football is expected to get underway in September.
