Moritz Broni Kwarteng joins Bundesliga club VfL Bochum

Moritz-Broni Kwarteng gets a chance in the Bundesliga thanks to VfL Bochum.

The 25-year-old midfielder's transfer from second-tier club FC Magdeburg is now finalized. Castroper Strabe has signed Kwarteng till 2027.

Born in Stuttgart, he was trained at VfB Stuttgart, RB Leipzig, and TSG Hoffenheim, among others. 

He took his first steps in professional football with Hamburger SV (69 games) and was also used for the first time in the second division of the Hanseatic League. 

In total, he played 72 games for HSV and collected 27 points there. Kwarteng finally made his breakthrough in Magdeburg.

Kwarteng played 43 competitive games for FC Magdeburg and was involved in 23 goals. The 25-year-old has been able to celebrate his greatest sporting successes with the Magdeburg team so far: Third division champion and promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2021/22 season, as well as state cup winner in Saxony-Anhalt.

In the 2022/23 season that just ended, the German-Ghanaian set a personal season record in 29 second division games with ten goals and three assists.
