Move Thomas Partey to the middle - Gary Neville tells Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta

Manchester United legend, Gary Neville has urged Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta to move Thomas Partey to the midfield.

Partey, 28, has been shifted to the right back in the first three games of the Gunners in the ongoing Premier League season and has excelled.

However, Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw against Fulham at the Emirates. Fans of the clubs after the game criticized the decision of the manager.

And speaking after the game, Neville singled out Partey in his analysis and called for Arteta to play the Ghanaian star prominently in midfield alongside Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice ahead of the Gunners’ big clash against Manchester United on Sunday, September 3.

“I would say that for me, looking at Arsenal, there is this element of experimentation. Thomas Partey is playing half-and-half in a game. Sometimes you need to go back to basics," he said on Sky Sports.

“I’d expect next week [vs Man Utd] Mikel Arteta is going to end that experiment and go with a solid back four. Move Partey into midfield with Declan Rice and Martin Ødegaard," he added.
