The Ministry of Youth and Sports have congratulated the Black Satellites for qualifying for the Africa Youth Championship to be staged in Niger next year.
Benin opened their account courtesy Bio Odo Chabi's goal but WAFA midfielder Prosper Ahiabu restored parity for Ghana as the game ended in a 1-1 stalemate with Ghana advancing on a 4-2 aggregate scoreline.
Following their success, the Ministry of Youth and sports congratulated them on their achievement despite the suspension of domestic football, which was expected to affect them.
The Ministry twitted via their official handle,"Huge performance by the Black Satellites in Cotonou, Benin to secure qualifications to the 2019 AFCON U-20 in Niger. Big congratulations to our gallant boys and their technical heads."
The Black Satellites failed to reach the last edition in Zambia two years ago hence missing the FIFA World Cup.
However, with qualification sealed, the two-times African Champions will now switch it's attention to qualifying for the World Cup.
Ghana joins Niger, Burkina Faso, Burundi , Mali, Nigeria, Senegal and South Africa for the Africa Youth Championship in Niger next year.
