MTN FA Cup final set for October 29

The grand final of this year’s MTN FA Cup has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 29, following the revision of the Premier League calendar to make way for the upcoming WAFU Tournament.

The decision was taken at a meeting by the FA Cup Committee (FACC) chaired by Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku yesterday.

It, however, said the venue for the final would be announced at the final draw of the competition slated for the M Plaza Hotel in Accra on August 22.

Also at the draw, the venues for the semi-final matches will also be unveiled.

All things being equal, the much-anticipated semi-final matches will be honoured on the weekend of September 30 and October 1.

So far, 10-time champions, Hearts of Oak, two-time champions Medeama SC, and Wa All Stars, have booked their places in the last four.

Meanwhile, the other quarter-final match between Asante Kotoko and Nea Salamina in Kumasi, which was postponed by FACC at the instance of Kotoko, has been tentatively fixed for Wednesday, August 16.
