MTN FA Cup: It is always difficult to play against lower clubs - Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu

Hearts of Oak are keeping their hopes alive after taking a giant step to the next round of the MTN FA Cup.

The Phobians recorded a slim 1-0 win over Division One club, Accra Young Wise from the MTN FA Cup Round of 16 tie played on Wednesday.

Daniel Afriyie Barnieh’s penalty was enough for the club to book the quarter-final slot.

Hearts coach, Samuel Boadu admits the lower tier side gave them a good run for their money.

“It was very tough because as you play with the lower club, Division One club, they wanted to show up, they wanted to show the talent that they have and they know that they are playing with Hearts of Oak.

“Hearts of Oak is a big team, they will frustrate the Hearts of Oak players but I think it’s a very nice game and we managed to get one goal which is very good.” Samuel Boadu said.

The Phobians are the record FA Cup holders with 10 trophies in their wardrobe with rivals, Kotoko following closely with nine cups.

The victory over Young Wise is coach Samuel Boadu’s 12th wins in all competitions this season.

The 20 times Ghana league champions currently lead the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League table with 60 points, three better than rivals Kotoko and will fancy a double this season.
