MTN FA Cup Round 32: End of the road for defending Champions Hearts of Oak after losing to Dreams FC

Published on: 22 January 2023

Hearts of Oak are out to the 2022/23 MTN FA Cup competition following a Round 32 defeat to Dreams FC.

The two teams locked horns today at the Accra Sports Stadium to fight for qualification to the Round 16 stage.

Following a very good start to the game, Dreams FC took the lead after just nine minutes when striker Agyenim Boateng found the back of the net.

After going down, Hearts of Oak stepped up their game in a bid to restore parity before the break.

Unfortunately, the efforts of the team were not enough. After recess, the Phobians continued to push and could have won the game.

Disappointingly, Hearts of Oak wasted two penalty kicks and ended up suffering a 1-0 defeat to Dreams FC.

Courtesy of the result, the MTN FA Cup defending Champions have been knocked out of this season’s competition.
