Multilingual Jordan Ayew acts as translator for Francophone contingent at Aston Villa

Ghana striker Jordan Ayew's linguistic skills have come in quite handy at Aston Villa where it has been revealed that he acts as a translator between the Francophone players and coach Steve Bruce.

Bruce has banned the speaking of French at Villa's training base and lots of the Francophone players including Jordan Amavi are struggling to keep-up.

Amavi has credited polyglot Jordan Ayew for helping him to abide by the rules by acting as a translator.

'He has banned French at training but sometimes we might just speak it quiet quietly!' Amavi says chuckling.

'We try not to. I want to be able to practice my English so it improves. If the manager explains things to me I will get there, and I can understand. But if not, then Rudy Gestede and Jordan Ayew can both translate for me. The language of football isn't complicated.'

Ayew is expected to be included in Ghana's squad for the 2017 AFCON come January in Gabon.
