The former Obuasi Ashanti Gold SC marksman has been impressive for the Berekum-based club this season and remains one of the best performing attackers in the suspended campaign.

Despite the player's exploits and the applauds that he has attracted, he says his focus is not to earn a place in the Black Stars team.

"I'm not focusing on Black Stars call-up because they are not ready to give us the local players the chance to showcase our talents, even when I won the goal king in Ghana premier league 2014/15 they did not give the opportunity to play in the black stars", striker Kofi Owusu told Agyenkwa FM.

He continued, "I want to ask you how many players in our league when became a goal king had the chance to play in the black stars and why should I focus on black stars now?

"My focus is to get contract outside the country or play Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in the League".

Before the Ghana Premier League season was suspended, Kofi Owusu played 14 matches for Berekum Chelsea where he netted 4 goals for the side.
