My Black Stars debut delayed because I couldn't acquire a Ghana passport - Patric Pfeiffer

German-born Ghanaian defender, Patric Pfeiffer, has now offered insights into why he didn’t make his Ghana debut despite the Ghana Football Association announcing two years ago that he accepted to switch nationality.

The 24-year-old reveals that there were difficulties in acquiring a Ghana passport, hence the delay.

But he has now disclosed that all these heddles have now been cleared and he is looking forward to making his Black Stars debut in September during the first two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

“A few weeks ago I was in Ghana and now I have my passport,” the Germany youth international said, as quoted by IdiskiTimes.

“I hope in September I can get a call-up. I know the coach, Otto Addo because he was the coach of Hamburg in the youth team [where I played].

“I have good contacts with him. I wanted to join the Black Stars before but I didn’t have my passport, but now it’s done and I’m ready.”

Last season, Patric Pfeiffer made just eleven appearances in the Bundesliga because of recurring injuries.
