Ghana star, Mohammed Kudus has disclosed that his goal from a direct free-kick over the weekend in the game against Sparta Rotterdam is not only dedicated to Black Stars forward Christian Atsu but to all victims and families affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

The talented youngster scored his first professional free-kick goal on Sunday to seal a 4-0 win for Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie game against Sparta Rotterdam.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Mohammed Kudus explained, “Atsu is the one close to me. I dedicated that goal to him and everyone who had families and all the people involved in the Turkey earthquake.”

Meanwhile, the player also praised referee Pol van Boekel for his decision not to book him after celebrating with his shirt off.

"The referee told me it's not allowed [shirt removal] but he understands because this is a bigger situation than football,” Mohammed Kudus said.

Turkey and Syria suffered a devastating earthquake on February 6. The natural disaster has since led to the death of over 40,000 people including Ghana’s Christian Atsu.
