In a fiercely contested match at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, the clash between Karela United and Hearts of Oak in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League left both coaches with mixed feelings.

Karela United's Shaibu Tanko expressed his disappointment, lamenting that his players failed to capitalize on crucial opportunities, resulting in a 1-1 draw against a formidable Hearts of Oak side.

Emmanuel Boakye Owusu gave Karela United the lead in the 10th minute. Hamza Issah scored in the 40th minute to save Accra Hearts of Oak from defeat.

"Everything worked on well except we did not take our chances imagine we getting a penalty at the 87th minute 8 minutes to go and the player waste it," he said after the game.

"What else can I do again but I will keep talking to them to really wake up for the next game that is the trend of the game.

"If you are playing openly you either win or lose and it is open again you either concede or you score more goals,"
