Former Ghanaian international Samuel Osei Kuffuor has opened up on how he has stopped his son from becoming a boxer in the future.

The ex-Bayern Munich superstar enjoyed a very successful career in Europe and with his national team during his playing days before calling time. Now watching from the sidelines, he has revealed that he will be happy if his son gets to play for the Black Stars one day.

In a revelation on the Joy Sports Link program last Saturday, Sammy Kuffuor shared how he had to convince one of his sons not to become a boxer.

The former defender explained, “My son Floyd, he’s the one that makes me laugh all the time, I ask him what he wants to do, he said he wanted to be a boxer. So I said hey, you’re not going be a boxer because I don’t want to sit by the ringside, seeing you getting beaten. So he’s changed his mind now”.

Meanwhile, one of Sammy Kuffuor's sons called Junior has taken up football and plays as a midfielder/defender. He hopes to play for the Ghana national team one day.
