Donyell Malen has been crowned player of the month in February. The PSV attacker scored five goals in the past month and therefore left Sebastien Haller of Ajax and Myron Boadu of AZ behind in the election. Both men are in the front of the team of the month with Malen, while Boadu has been chosen as the best U21 player.
The Eredivisie announced this on Thursday. It is striking that there are no fewer than three players from RKC Waalwijk in the defense of the team of the month: Melle Meulensteen, Ahmed Touba, and Kostas Lamprou form the central heart of the rearguard. Furthermore, the team, chosen on the basis of statistics and since January also partly by the fans, consists of players from Ajax, Feyenoord, AZ, and therefore PSV.
Malen is also the only player of the Eindhoven team that has made it to the team. The PSV striker was also named Man of the Match of those duels based on votes in the matches against FC Twente (3-0) and ADO Den Haag (2-2). Boadu also had good figures: the born Amsterdammer saw all his five shots on goal end in a goal in the month of February.
