Nana Yaw Amponsah needs time to lift Asante Kotoko again - Malik Jabir

Former Asante Kotoko coach Malik Jabir says Nana Yaw Amponsah needs time to lift the club again before it can be compared to the North African clubs.

The owner of Division One League club Phar Rangers will today be outdoored as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Porcupine Warriors.

The top position at the Kumasi-based club has been vacant for the past couple of months.

With Nana Yaw Amponsah coming in, he will take over from board member Joseph Yaw Adu who has been acting in the interim in the absence of a CEO.

“We should not be saying we want to catch the Europeans or Arabians, people should understand that we can but it is going to take time with the new administration," Jabir told OTEC FM.

"The perseverance of the management, players and the supporters will lift the club and we will see how quickly the team (Kotoko) can catch the North Africans before we think of how to beat them again," he added.
