Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis Reveals Club Will Soon Have 'Two New Strikers'

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that he expects to have 'two new strikers' to fire in the goals once the January transfer window has concluded - according to reports from Football Italia.

One of those strikers will be Arkadiusz Milik, who will soon be returning from injury. The Polish international's spell on the sideline has meant that the Partenopei have been navigating their way through Serie A without a recognised out-an-out striker.

The situation has seemingly not hindered Napoli as much as people would think, having climbed up to fourth in the table one point behind AC Milan, scoring 32 in 16 games.

De Laurentiis has assured fans that they will be in even better shape to face their last 16 opponents in the Champions League, Spanish giants Real Madrid.

"Real Madrid are a very strong team, they have champions," he told Canale 21. "We're not joking around though, and we'll have Milik back. For when he recovers we'll have bought another one, who we hope will fit well into [Maurizio] Sarri's style of play.

"With Real Madrid we'll see who we'll deploy, in some ways we'll have two new strikers. Right now we're thinking of Torino though, it will be a tough game and they have [Andrea] Belotti who is a great striker."

Napoli certainly didn't miss any striker firepower at the weekend as they thumped Cagliari 5-0 away from home in an impressive attacking display. Belgian wingerDries Mertens took home the match ball as hebagged a hat-trick, while Piotr Zielinski and star man Marek Hamsik also got on the score sheet.

The result eased fears that the club would struggle to score goals without their ex-hitman Gonzalo Higuaín, who left the club for Juventus in the summer. De Laurentiis recently took a swipe at the Argentine, saying he "limits the growth of others."
