Ghanaian forward Nathaniel Opoku is expected to make a return to the pitch in mid-September after being sidelined due to a groin injury.

Opoku was notably absent from OH Leuven's recent clash against KAS Eupen over the weekend, which resulted in a disappointing 3-1 defeat for the team during round 5 of the Belgium Jupiler Pro League.

The absence of Opoku was keenly felt by OH Leuven as they struggled to find their footing against KAS Eupen.

The match saw compatriot Isaac Nuhu taking the spotlight, netting a goal for the home side and playing for a commendable 84 minutes.

The club management confirmed that Nathaniel Opoku's absence from the recent game was attributed to a groin injury.

However, the exact circumstances surrounding the injury remain undisclosed.

Opoku's last appearance for OH Leuven was in a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Royal Antwerp, where he was on the field for 60 minutes.

In the current season of the Belgium Jupiler Pro League, Nathaniel Opoku has made his presence felt with four appearances, during which he managed to score one goal and provide an assist.
