Neville and Carragher Only Pick One Player Each From Former Clubs for Their 'Team of the Season'

With Chelsea currently leading the Premier League by six points, it's fair to say they are firmly in the driving seat in the title race.

Many of their stars have impressed this season, withDavid Luiz looking a completely different player to the one who was so frustratingly erratic during his first spell at the club, while Cesar Azpilicueta has impressed as a third centre-back in Antonio Conte's system.

N'Golo Kante has brough his impressive Leicester form from last season into his performances for the Blues this year, while Eden Hazard and Diego Costa have led the team going forward.

Given their form, it's no surprise to see Sky pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher opt for plenty of Chelsea players when they picked their respective 'Team of the Season' sides for the current campaign.

And despite both Neville and Carragher's former clubs Manchester United and Liverpoolspending big on the likes of Paul Pogba and Sadio Mane, neither the midfielder or the winger earned a place in Neville's or Carragher's sides.

Instead, former United full-back Neville plugged for striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has 11 Premier League goals this season, while former Reds centre-back Carragher went for Adam Lallana, who's bagged six goals and six assists.

Neville and Carragher will definitely be hoping to include the likes of Pogba and Mane come the end of the season, with both displaying good form in recent weeks.

Pogba, whose transfer from Juventus broke the world record fee in the summer, has helped revive United's fortunes in the past few weeks with the Red Devils now on a run of three consecutive wins after a frustrating run of draws.

Mane has impressed all season despite some fans rising eyebrows at his price tag in the summer, and has eight goals and four assists in the league so far, with the Reds currently occupying second place.
